I don’t know why there are not many comments but it is a beautiful high place with beautiful nature
Nice walk between two attractions. It connects the monastery with the cross. Peacock everywhere. Free.
An excellent alley for a free walk, you can even walk with a stroller. The panoramic view of the island is mesmerizing. In the center there is a kiosk with a very tasty herbal tincture (you don’t smell the alcohol, but the herbs). There are a lot of peacocks who are tired of corn. If you go to the left - entrance is 6 euros - the territory of the ancient church is pleasant, surrounded by vegetation. Panoramic view of the northern part of the island.
A beautiful pilgrimage route lined with a wonderfully fragrant cypress avenue. You walk along this path to get to Filerimos Cross, a large concrete summit cross, which you notice when you land on Rhodes and at the latest when driving from the airport to your accommodation. The story of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ accompanies you along the path to the cross in pictures that adorn the stone shrines.
The beginning of the Path is located opposite the entrance to the monastery. A picturesque cypress alley, the length of which corresponds to the length of Christ’s path to Calvary. Along the alley there are proskynitariums with relief images of the last journey of Christ. Peacocks walk near the alley, they also sit on cypress trees (yes, these chickens fly, albeit low). The alley ends with a 16-meter concrete cross and an observation deck, which offers stunning views of the surrounding area.
