A beautiful place. It makes a nice change to be in the countryside surrounded by trees and water. Sadly in October there are no butterflies but I actually don't mind that, i just fancied a change of scenery. You don't need more than an hour or so here though and beware the prices at the kiosk. I think it was over 4 euros for a small coffee and 3 for water. You even have to pay for the toilet. If it's busy here it would be a bit of a nightmare like the ingleton waterfall trail in Yorkshire.... beautiful when quiet, hell. when busy
Amazing place. As you enter, you may think you will see just a few butterflies. However, it is after 2/3 of the route when you discover the stunning amount of butterflies. Bring water, it is very humid and hot. Bar is quite expensive, but their slushes are irresistible and for 6 euros apiece, they will be your reward for the walk, which is 1.5 km ( and return). Car park are a little bit far away
A Captivating Natural Wonder! The Valley of the Butterflies is truly a natural wonder! The fresh air, lush green forest, and crystal-clear stream leave you in awe. As you walk through, you feel like you are embraced by nature itself. The serenity and tranquility surround you at every step. If you really want to immerse yourself in nature, this is definitely a place to visit. However, for those planning to visit with babies, there are a few important things to keep in mind: Inside the valley, there are many stairs and steep slopes, so it's not suitable for strollers. The walk may be challenging, but I guarantee every moment will be worth it. Also, due to the forested area, the humidity inside is quite high, so be prepared to sweat! Bringing extra clothes could be a good idea. The journey to the valley is just as remarkable as the destination itself, but the road is quite bumpy and winding. If you're prone to motion sickness, it's something to be mindful of before setting out.Besides the butterflies, you can also spot some adorable little crabs along the path. Be careful while walking or driving not to accidentally step on or run over them. They're a lovely part of the valley’s charm and deserve just as much attention.Despite these challenges, visiting the Valley of the Butterflies was an unforgettable experience for me. The peace and calm that come from being so close to nature is something you can't find anywhere else. If you find yourself in Rhodes, make sure to add this magical place to your list!
Lovely forest trail. In all fairness didn’t see that many butterflies but the walk was very scenic and calm. Only a few people were about. At the top and the bottom of the trail were places to sit down and order drinks.
As some people already stated, we went here in September so we saw very little butterflies. The hike up and down the trail was lovely though. The valley is well kept and you could see a lot of other flora and fauna. We went in the afternoon so it was not too crowded. We payed 6 euro pp. If you want to have a nice hike we would definitely recommend going here, just don’t expect to see a lot of butterflies.
