We will try to write a review, as objective as possible.Positive aspects of the hotel:They layout of the hotel as a small Greek village is very nice. The rooms are spread out and it doesn’t feel like one of those big hotels with big buildings. It lays right on the beach which is nice and clear. The swimming pools are quite big, but I can understand that some people feel like they can’t use them as they are in front of the rooms with direct pool access, so you might feel like they are only for them which is not the case. The staff was usually quite friendly, especially at the beach bar which is the one we used the most.Pizzas served for lunch at the pool restaurant were very good. The a la carte restaurants are quite nice, if you manage to book them on the online app that they provide (the process is quite cumbersome). Now, onto the more negative ones:The check in process was a bit strange. You have to fill in an online form before checking in at the counter even if you have all of the paperwork with you. We had to pay the taxes right away and cash only. Usually they appear on the bill at the end of the stay…so if you don’t carry cash with you it could be an issue. Then we were negatively surprised when we were told that to use the safe in the room, we’d have to pay 40 euros. We have never seen this in any other hotel…the safe was always free!!Onto the room now: we had booked a swim up family room with direct pool access. We had been told it would be a renovated room, of course it wasn’t. The room looked like it came out of the 80s’….The “room” for the children are maybe 6 square meters, with no windows (other than a window on the hallway). The AC was leaking onto our daughter’s bed…we gave the information to reception, someone came to check only after a couple of days…looked at it and did nothing….The beds were hard as rocks, we had to ask for toppers to make them a little more comfortable. And of course the piece of wood underneath was completely rotten due to the leak. The main bedroom was much bigger but also in poor condition. Noisy AC, plugs that were hanging out of the wall. There also, we had notified reception…we saw someone came to check…and again…did nothing about it.The bathroom was just a joke…the shower was so small you could barely turn around in it, the tiles were broken on the floor, the mirrors were also damaged, there was no ventilation at all in the bathroom. It didn’t feel clean at all.The access to the pool was not as shown on the pictures, the room was under ground level and you had to use a stairs to go to the terrace. It wasn’t a big problem for us but it could be for older people or people with small children. The renovate rooms are only a few, they can only accommodate 3 people max. And the renovated pool area with a pool bar is reserved for adult only. That’s all you see from the renovated parts.Lastly, there was regularly a strong smell of sewers in the hallway or even in the room, this was very unpleasant. We had asked the cleaning lady to leave us a spray to try and cover it.The food was quite repetitive, nothing special. After 9 days we were quite sick of it. The buffet area was not very clean, neither were the glasses or dishes.During dinner, every night at 8.30pm the mini disco was starting. Meaning you were having dinner having to scream over “baby shark” if you wanted to have a conversation. The amphitheatre was right under the main restaurant. In terms of animation, if you’re looking for entertainment this is not the place to go. There are only 3 people and the program is quite poor. We had 3 live concerts are night which were nice but that’s all over a 9 day stay.We had advised the reception about our disappointment, also the local contact of Shauinsland and no one did anything to try to find a solution. We paid way too much for the hotel and the service that we had. These holidays won’t stay in our memory (at least not as the best ones we had). This hotel is definitely worth 5 stars…I’d give 3 maximum!

In overal it is good hotel, reason i gave 3 stars review only is because as advertised 5 star hotel, it have few shortcomings, some of them could be easily fixed. Dont be put off because of my review, unless you hate ice cold swimming pools :)Location - 5 stars, outside plenty shops. 4 minutes drive to tiny but lovely Lardos village where you can find more bars, retsaurants and shops. 2 min drive from fantastic Mini Golf 18 course, museum and GoCart track. Fantastic Glitsra beach is 5 min drive and must go in to the mountains, 15 minutes drive to local Monasteries. Famous Lindos only 15 minutes drive.Be aware - it is not the best hotel for elderly people or people who have walking difficulities. it is architectural masterpiece !! I have to admit that there was lots of planing and work to connect all building in to the working structure !Reception - 5 stars, staff friendly, easy checkin and check outRooms -- 3 stars, standard, pretty basic rooms, no decoration, nothing special, something i would expect from 3-4 star hotelCleaning - 5 stars, hotel is clean, rooms clean regulary, restaurants a, bars and pools are also very cleanStaff - 4.5 stars, friendly people, no problems and usual hospitality but also nothing extraBars - 4.5 stars, 5 bars, one under lobby in basemen open from 17.00 (never drink there), one below main restaurant in area mostly for kids but good bar, another one in the middle of hotel between pools, very good with fantastic lady behind bar (forgot her name !), 4th bar at the end of the hotel at the entrance to the beach, also good, and open till midnight, strong drinks, staff at bars good, drinks plenty, lots of coctails to choose and decent quality, good frappe!, only downside is quality of soft drinksMain, La Luna restaurant - 3.5 stars, clean, staff friendly, plenty sitting space and even with hotel nearly full we didnt have problem finding table for 5 people, hotel catered for german tourist so lots of meat to choose .Stars taken off for - (1) no decor, this could be also army's cantine :), no atmosphere, (2) sweets look good at first day but the same all time based on sweet cream and not much to choose.Beach, La Pizza restaurant - 5 stars, more than expected from the beach restaurant, very good pizza and diffrent food than main restaurant, open all day till 17.00 which was fantastic for people who spend day time outside hotelGreek and Asian retaurants - 1 star - in theory you can book it as many times you want but during our 10 days holidays i wasnt able to book even one visit in them and believe me , i tried every day! Shame Costa Lindia !!Pools - 1 star ! i think there is 12 swimming pools in hotel but 6 are private. All swimming pools are ICE Cold and there was 30 degrees for nearly whole our stay. They were completely empty most of the time! How such a 5 star hotel have so cold swimming pools! t=That ruined our holiday. Also to enter every single pool (apart of private pools) you have to use pool ladder. for my 65 years old mom it was impossible task, no step entrance at all, we were shocked !Beach - 3 stars - beach is mixed sand and pebble but the entrance to the water is purely pebble stones, after few meters in the water there is clean sand but to enter and come back it is not nice experience, very average beach but lots of free sun loungers.Animation - 1 star, there was one good show , Boney M after 21.30 at the beach and that is really, non existing animation team, i know they were somewhere but never seen them or been engaged. Very poor for 5 star hotel
