Contrary to many of the reviews on here we had absolutely no problems with this rental company. They were clearly marked at the airport and had a shuttle bus ready within 5mins. The initial pick up was very easy, there was no hard sell for extra insurance (we used their basic insurance and bought excess insurance from the UK) and no problems with deposit. The terms on the booking were very clear that you needed a credit card (not amex) in the bookers name on pickup. Due to the hire being over 12 days they did actually take the entire amount from the card, rather than just blocking it.I was given plenty of time to inspect the vehicle and although it was quite scratched I was able to take pictures of the entire vehicle with no hassle. We also received the size of vehicle booked.No problems during the hire, car worked perfectly. I did get the car washed inside and out prior to return as I feel this garners good will.Return was very easy, 2 mins inspection and then I was refunded the £827 (900 euro) deposit back onto the credit card. The money returned 2 days later no problems.2 weeks hire was £111 (130 euro) which was very value indeed.Reading a lot of the negative reviews, it seems that many people simply do not read the terms and conditions when booking. Using cheap car hire aboard is always some what of a risk, just ensure you have all the right documents/credit cards with and take out comprehensive excess cover prior to going.
Everything went smoothly. Started at the airport where a lady was holding a poster with GreenMotion on it. After letting her know she arranged a bus for us to go and pick up the rental car.At the rental office, I was offered a lower own risk but higher insurance, of which I declined.After this, we got the car, did the normal walk around the car, and made some pictures as evidence.On the last day, I did my part of washing the car and also vacuuming it to return it to them.2 weeks later, I received my deposit back. Overall, it was a good experience
In the first few days of my car rental, one of the tires was vandalized (it appeared to be cut with a knife). I called the company for a replacement, and while they did come to fix it, the process wasn't handled very professionally — the first tire they brought didn't even fit the vehicle.At the end of my rental, I was shocked by the charge: €356 for a single tire replacement. Considering this was for a basic car (a Toyota Corolla Hybrid), this price seemed unreasonably high.Additionally, the condition of the tires when I received the car was concerning. The front tires were in terrible shape: they were worn, full of cracks, and had pieces of rubber peeling off. When I asked the company representative if they considered it acceptable to put such tires on a rental vehicle, they told me I should have mentioned it when picking up the car. I understand that, but how is it even acceptable to rent out a vehicle with tires that pose a serious safety risk to passengers? This is incredibly irresponsible.Overall, I’m deeply disappointed with this company.
In the process of challenging this company. Booked a car in January as we were out for a friend's wedding. On pick up, car covered in damage, very lazy check of damage on the form. Some damage was noted, other damage was not noted, we were told - "that is fine"...Naturally we took photos of all the car. On drop off, we have been told one particular bump and scratch is new and unfortunately on our pre photo there is a bit of a reflection that makes it harder to see but none the less you can see it!The scratch was a staggering 3cm or so long and they have charged us nearly €700 euro from our retainer (including €150 in off the road charges in the middle of January when there are no tourists and clearly no bookings are lost)!We have contacted green motion who now are not responding and we will be challenging through our credit card company..
Steer clear of this place. During the car pick-up, the staff was very impolite and impatient with us. They almost pressured us into taking additional car insurance without giving a proper explanation. They did not respect our need to take time to properly investigate the car. All they cared about was us signing the papers as quickly as possible. Some guy even asked us to move our car forward a bit before we even signed any papers! In the end we were very lucky that we did not get any damage to our car and that we were able to return it without problems. However I would not risk this again and would recommend to find a different company.I would like to add that the guy waiting for us when returning the car was very nice to us (but he worked for a different company).
