Very busy but if you like to sit and watch the world go by, then this is certainly a good spot. Though the bars and cafes are pricey. But the steps up to the church are free.

That's the heart of the commercial buzz. I actually bought a few items in this area, some leather items and Greek traditional shirts (without collar) which are rather unique.
