Could be something more Greek than this tavern? We had high expectations, all sites recommended this tavern as the best on the island, our Rhodesian hosts told us, best tavern on the island, so it was a must place in our 10 days trip in Rhodes. It is definitely authentic, the food, the service, the atmosphere, everything was perfect. The laugh, the attitude, the recommendations and the special attention to each guest, because we felt the most honorable guests there, everything was outstanding. We loved it. Few tips, keep in mind that it is in the mountain so some warmer clothes will help you to enjoy the place. Second tip, if you go for dinner and go back to Rhodes town during the night, be careful on the way back, there are goats and deers that might pass the road, so drive with caution. To the people who work there, thank you so much for everything! ❤️
What can I say… It’s just the WHY we are traveling for. We found this place randomly and at the beginning we stopped there to have just a coffee. Then we met Savas, the owner, he was one of the kindest person ever. We took 2 traditional Greek coffee it was so delicious. So the place was so amazing that we decided to come again the day after to have lunch. What a great decision. We had a grilled lamb and an homemade eggplant recipe. There is the place where you will eat handmade fresh food make with love. We highly recommend everyone to drive a bit and live a truly Greek moment.
Gotta say, the grub at this joint is pretty darn awesome – simple but totally hits the spot. Perfect for a chill Sunday lunch if you're not in a rush. The food's definitely the star of the show, but heads up, the service could use a bit of work. We were left twiddling our thumbs waiting for our plates to show up, and they somehow forgot our drinks. But hey, don't let that scare you off. If you've got time to spare and you're after some seriously tasty eats, this place is worth checking out. Just maybe bring a snack to tide you over while you wait!
The best dinner we could have! Amazing hostess with a big smile in her face! The food was EXCELLENT local products and straight from fame to table! You must try the Chickpeas with goat meat, definitely you cannot miss the lamb chops and the stuffed grape leaves with rice and herbs!
