An incredibly beautiful place, where it is suitable to go diving or snorkeling. It has clean and perfectly clear water, blue as the sky. The grottos facing the beach are picturesque and help you stay sheltered from the scorching heat outside. Super !!
The dramatic rock formations, caves, clear water and abundance of fish is very nice. It’s a pebble beach but not uncomfortable to lie on. There are a couple of bars up the beach for drinks and snacks. However, the place unsurprisingly attracts a few of the young and noisy variety of tourist, yachts and party boats that rock up for 30 mins and spoil the place with engines, music, horns, shouting and 100 extra people in the water. Most people don’t stay for long. Good for a short stop but not a relaxing place to enjoy the day. 5 stars for the caves and beach itself but -2 for the vibe.
Best beach in Rhodes, with authentic taste of Greece which is not overdone with tourists and sun beds taking over all the beach
Loved this cave! Took some photos with my phone and with the groups of small fish around the interesting caves, this is real fun for snorkelling. There’s even a separate shower and toilet for this area which is amazing. Suggest to get there before 10.30 or you’ll find an excursion group in the main cave, which can be crowded.
Traganou beach is a truly beautiful (rock) beach with absolute crystal-clear blue waters, which makes it more suitable for snorkeling as opposed to the traditional beach-going-experience. The beds are a bit expensive these days though, so keep this in mind, and a small part of the beach is reserved for military personnel. In terms of marine wildlife, don't expect anything special here; it's okay for the casual enthusiast but that is about it. The real treat here are the Traganou caves, slightly north from the beach main entry. If you swim across the rocks, you'll be treated to some of the most beautiful sceneries I've seen across Europe; words are simply not enough to describe it, so check out the pictures below. If you come early, you'll avoid most of the tourists and should be able to snap some great pictures that are more than worthy of both your wall and your social media accounts!
