Overall Impression 🎭
Joy Club presents itself as an energetic, open-air nightclub aiming for an "Ibiza style" atmosphere. It has garnered a mix of experiences, with some patrons praising its lively environment and others raising serious concerns about staff conduct and billing practices.
What Patrons Liked 👍
- Atmosphere & Music: Many visitors described the club as "lovely," offering "good vibes" and "good music." The DJs are frequently highlighted as being "amazing" and providing an enjoyable set. The "open air" aspect was also a significant positive for some.
- Staff & Security: Some reviews commend the staff as "lovely" and highlight good security measures, making patrons feel "safe." Turkish hospitality was specifically noted by one reviewer who celebrated a birthday there, indicating excellent service and entertainment for special occasions.
- Accessibility & Pricing: It was noted that there are no entry fees to the club, and some found the individual drinks to be "not expensive."
Points of Concern & Warnings ⚠️
- Early Closing: One recurring comment, although potentially outdated (2 years ago), was that the club closes relatively early, around 1 AM. This was attributed by one reviewer to potential COVID-related restrictions at the time.
- Aggressive Sales Tactics & "Traps": A significant number of highly negative reviews point to a troubling focus on making customers spend money. One user explicitly warned of "many traps" and advised against visiting due to the club's perceived primary goal of extracting funds.
- Deceptive Billing & Intimidation: The most severe criticisms involve alleged deceptive practices, where "complimentary" drinks were later aggressively charged at exorbitant rates. One group reported being told complimentary buckets of vodka and red bull were free, only to be surrounded by "aggressive male staff members" demanding up to €1,000. This led to feelings of intimidation and being coerced into paying to safely leave the situation. This specific experience suggests a highly risky environment for some patrons.
Final Thoughts
Joy Club in Marmaris offers the allure of a vibrant, open-air party experience with good music and a potentially exciting atmosphere. However, potential visitors should be acutely aware of the serious allegations regarding aggressive sales tactics, deceptive billing, and intimidating staff behavior. While some have had positive experiences, the severe warnings from others about being exploited financially and feeling unsafe cannot be ignored.
If considering a visit, it is highly advisable to exercise extreme caution, clarify all pricing upfront, and be wary of any offers that seem "complimentary" or too good to be true.
Went there for a night out, great open air night club result impressed with it
Lovely club. Ibiza style. Good vibes. Good music. Staff is lovely. Turkish businesses do know how to serve at its finest and entertain. We have been in Joy for my b-day and they made my night wow. Then 2 more night after( we do like to party)Downside- closes at 1am.Probably because of covid they haven’t been allowed to go back to longer opening hrs.
The DJs are good, but the club seems to be entirely focused on making you spend money. You may encounter many traps, so I do not recommend it.
amazing Club , Safe , Good Security , not expenaive you can go get a drink and pay for it no entry fees and the DJ is amazing
Do not go to this club. These people are criminals. We went as a group of 15 from a sailing boat, our tour guide organised complimentary drinks on entry, and a group discount. They then brought buckets of vodka and red bull to our table. 3 times they told our tour guide that this was also complimentary. After we had a drink it became evident that they were not complimentary. They surrounded our table with staff. Our female tour guide had 4 aggressive male staff members surround her trying to make her pay. They tried to make us pay €1,000. Members from the group was able to talk them down on the price. We felt so intimidated, and the only safe way out of the situation was to pay.
